The second part of John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress, featuring the travels of the family of the first pilgrim and a neighbour whose name is Mercy, has been overshadowed. This is natural because of the brightness of the first story. Here the second part is summarised, continuing the approach of the first 'rebooted' book, and it is complete with illustrations as before. The author goes on to claim this second part to be at least a match for the first volume. With the appearance of Great-heart and such a large cast, and a balance of the homely and adventurous, there is much to be commended here in the dream about Christiana, the wife of Christian and mother of their four boys. The author, as before, shares his own observations to make the book interesting for the modern reader.
