Too many men, too little time...

Lily has had a two year affair with Romance, but it seems that lately, he's taking her for granted. One evening at a Girls Night Out, she runs into an impossibly sexy musician named Dick and she is immediately interested. Not wanting to blow her situation with Romance, she keeps her affair with Dick very quiet. Unfortunately, it can't go on like that forever. Lily gets a job with Hallmark cards and has to move from Atlanta to Kansas City. Almost immediately, she meets a tall, handsome realtor who banged into the back of her truck. They strike up a friendship that progresses toward a love affair, then she meets his captivating brother. How is she going to sort out all of these men? PIECES OF A MAN by Cas Sigers is the story of just how such a complicated love life turns out. Interspersed throughout the novel are poems written by Lily; some are to her lovers and when she finally realizes she doesn't really know herself, they are to her. By this time, the very pretty Lily has met yet another man. Cas Sigers' novel, PIECES OF A MAN is a very interesting love story which also includes several sub-plots involving Lily's girlfriends. It keeps the suspense going as all of these women reach crises with the men in their lives. The characters are all well developed so there is no guessing about motives and what drives each one. The end tends to leave you guessing, however. Reviewed by Alice Holman of The RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers

Lily is every woman I know!

I loved this novel. Its not often in contemporary urban literature an author looks at the role we all play in the success and demise of our relationships. Lily is a lovable and real character. I see bits of every woman I know in her, including myself. A definite must read for young men and women... I look forward to more from this author.

Through the Looking Glass...

I was very suprised at how wonderful this novel turned out to be. At first glance one would think that this book is strictly for the "sex and the city" gal, detailing the humorous and outrageous predicaments a single, professional young woman continues to find herself entangled in. But a second look reveals a thought-provoking and poetic account of one woman's struggle to find everything she's always wanted in one man. Being a man who is still trying to figure out the woman, I found myself turning the pages readily, gobbling up each and every word the main character, Lily, spoke to me. Wonderfully articulated in intelligently, traditional prose and oft accented with charismatically, poetic verse, Lily expresses herself truthfully and unabashedly as we ride the love tilt-a-whirl with her from the top to the bottom and back to the top again. Does this "perfect man" exist? Or is it just an ideal women cling to until he becomes actualized, inevitably leaving them uninterested and desiring another upon his arrival? Lily's lovable humanity and transient flaws make reading her narration easy and delightful, and her infectious spirit carries you throughout this quick read as she seeks out the pieces to her "man". Human nature seems to be to covet what thou doth not possess, and Lily is no exception. But the closer she gets to solving her own riddle the further away she really is. And although her thought process at times might have seemed to be irrational and full of romantically, sensual spontaneity, through the looking glass I could see that Lily mirrored many of the traits I find exist in most of the women I have been fortunate enough to call friend, girlfriend, lover and/or confidant. Lily is the new millenium woman: independent, successful, confident and most importantly sexually saavy. But how important are those characteristics if you have no one that compliments them? Will Lily find the right gentleman? And if she finds him, will she have the sensibility to recognize the lad or will she continue on her ambitious quest? Oh Lily, Lily, Lily...what an amazingly realistic archetype you are! And what an enchantingly amusing, yet educationally informative book Ms. Sigers has crafted in "Pieces Of A Man".
