A charming evocation of the Italian countryside

The book doesn't have a lot of recipes, but the ones it has are very good, and have been carefully grouped to present complete meal ideas. This small, artistically crafted volume is a pleasure to read if for no other reason than it's evocative descriptions of the Italian countryside, tantalizing hints about the origins of its recipes, and beautiful illustrations. Recommended for anyone who wants their cookbooks to be not only useful, but artful as well.
