Entertaining

Is this a first time novelist you could never tell. This novel was well written and put together. Can't wait for her next one. CHEERS to Sungee

Good Good Good then Surprising!

Senida had some real issues. She had to learn her lessons the hard way. Now, that church incident was a bit much. The characters were very realistic I especially liked Maya and Jelani. Maya seem to be the only sane one in the group. I was hoping Jelani was the perfect one, I was surprised by his past, that goes to show you there is no "perfect one". Although (I hate to admit this), a few pages later I was pulling for him again. You'll be hooked after the first punch is thrown. This is a very fast read. There were some surprises that caught me off guard. I hope there is a sequel. READ THIS ONE!

Great Read

This is a great debut novel. Picking Up The Pieces has a little of everything: happiness, sadness, family, relationships, careers, you name it. The author did an extrordinary job of developing the characters and bringing it all together. The end is shocking, which makes the book a page-turner. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something to hold their interest. I don't want to divulge too much about the book and give it away, so I'll close by saying reders will be totally shocked by its ending!

A Great Read!

I just finished reading Picking Up the Pieces and this was a great book. I was a little disappointed with the ending, but hopefully that means that there will be a sequel! (smile). The characters were great, the way they were developed I felt like I actually knew them. The funeral was so sad, I had tears in my eyes, I really felt Senida's pain. I wish Sungee many blessings in her writing career. I am anxiously waiting for the next book. Peace!

One of the best books I have read this year!

My girlfriend and I read this book at the same time, we could not put it down. We talked on the phone daily about the plot, characters and writing style. We both loved this book, however, we enjoyed some characters better than others. The writer did a great job in developing the characters. The book catches your interest in the first chapter with Senida acting crazy! The book touched on a lot of topics - love, pain, friendship, careers, and initimate relationship. There was much drama in this book, which kept you turning the pages & staying up late reading the book. Looking forward to the next book by Sungee.
