The content of this book is a monograph presented to the State University of Bahia - UNEB, as a pre-requisite for obtaining a degree in Physical Education. The topic was chosen because it is being widely discussed in both academic and social circles, reaching global levels. Since Physical Education is an area of knowledge that studies body culture, it was thought that gender would have a major implication when it comes to bodily practices. With this in mind, it was decided that the study method would be to analyse the publications of one of the most renowned journals in the field of Physical Education, RBCE (Revista Brasileira de Ci ncias do Esporte). In order to observe how much the publications deal with the theme of gender in relation to Physical Education.
