step-by-step instructions, nice projects & great galleries

This is a wonderful book for anyone who has ever wanted to transfer a photo. The book is in full-color with many photos. Clear step-by-step instructions are included for both the transfer process & projects.Instructions for both creating & applying a transfer using either a laser copier or computer printer are covered. Tips on choosing images, troubleshooting, adding & removing color are also included.Next, there are inspirational galleries of beautiful family quilts, studio quilts, & creative clothing. Captions below each piece describe the creation process. One of my favorites is a Tuscany castle scene. A few projects follow, including a photo pillow & three quilts. There is also a great resource list that includes many places to buy the transfer paper, as well as mail order photo transfer & film services.

In one word- Thorough---for the novice to the experienced.

Jean Ray Laury has done it again! Her understanding of how to help the learner through each step is amazing! She adresses the 'not computer literate' in the introduction & states she is not a computer expert, but a quilter, designer & teacher..... then she goes on to say she will share everything she knows....and does! This book is by far her best gift of technique, inspiration and challenge all rolled into one. She also gives 'copyright' a page to itself. Something to seriously consider when we get into this process. This book gives information about METHODS, RESOURCES, TROUBLE SHOOTING, PROBLEM SOLVING.. there is just so much packed into this book. It gives the reader step by step confidence.Jean's love of art of quilting & her dynamic teaching ability are here for you .... so, what are you waiting for?.... get your own copy to experience and drool over.... the pictures and their descriptions are technique laden, too!
