Phosphors for Plasma Display Panels and Mercury Free Lamps

The phosphors printed on screen glass surface of plasma display panels (PDP) formed a media for large format display for the development of next generation display devices, such as high definition TV (HDTV), field emissive display (FED), vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) and color plasma display panels (PDPs). PDP phosphor creates visible light when excited by a plasma /vacuum discharge at 147 nm or 172 nm can also employed for manufacture of mercury free lamps. Borate host phosphors synthesized by simple method with a variety of crystal structure and optical properties has widen the scope for researchers.
