Man‟s nature is very much concerned with his place in the cosmos. Therefore,

the question of the aim of education is very much concerned with the question of the

nature of the universe. Education is based upon the distinctions between animal and

human nature. It has generally aimed to develop the characteristics peculiar to man. In

the words of Robert R. Rusk, "Those powers and their products are peculiar to man, and

differentiate him from other animals. They lie beyond the range of the positive science

- biological and even psychological; they raise problems which only philosophy can

hope to solve and make the only satisfactory basis of education a philosophical one."
