Beautiful look at Philly, before its tallest 7 buildings.

This book is an outstanding 4-language (English, French, German, Spanish) picture-tour of Philadelphia. My own favorite shots are of the skyscrapers themselves, but there are also tours of the culture, the history, and scenic surrounding areas. In 1988, zoning laws changed and allowed mega-skyscrapers to finally rise above the head of William Penn's statue (atop City Hall shown in a beautiful photo, page 8). Thus there are already 7 major buildings that this book predates. However, this book is still a great 1976 snapshot of an already-modern city.Other cities (like New York and Chicago) seem to have a wealth of books with beautiful photos and extended captions, but Philadelphia seems to have lacked one since this one was written in the bicentennial year.
