Phantom Boundary
A mission unfolding on the soil of Burma, a country torn apart by civil war, where the team's troubles were not limited to the people they were sent to investigate. The situation itself was a threat, with armed rebel groups fighting against the junta spread across the region, and no part of the borderlands untouched by the conflict. The mission was to find out who the outsiders were who had suddenly been spotted near the Mizoram border, only to disappear without a trace.
It was also to investigate the anomaly developing in a particular region of the jungle, where drones and helicopters sent into the area had lost control and crashed, while the people sent into the forest to reconnoitre had been killed in a bizarre manner- without a single scratch on their bodies, yet with every bone in them broken. The mysterious activities taking place between the Zorinpui border and Paletwa had attracted the attention not only of Indian security agencies, but also of the military regime operating from Naypyidaw.
It had sent Major Hashi to investigate, and he had managed to prepare a report on the entire chain of events- but the report itself had already begun heading down the wrong path. For the team sent on the mission, the danger did not come only from those they were investigating. They also had to contend with the situation inside Myanmar, where armed rebel groups were present throughout the borderlands and an atmosphere of conflict prevailed everywhere. What was the secret behind those mysterious activities?
Who were the people who had arrived there- and were responsible for everything that was happening? What was contained in Major Hashi's report that ultimately became the cause of several deaths? And just how difficult would a mission in a country torn apart by civil war prove to be?
