Pewe (say Pay-Way) is a young Great Green Macaw who is experiencing his world for the first time. He is greeted by the local animals in his neighborhood but all he can say is "Mwah " That is alright because his mommy and daddy always know what he needs; just like our mommies and daddies do. The real Pewe is the first wild-born chick to released parents at the ARA Project (El Proyecto ARA) in Manzanillo, Costa Rica. This story was written to celebrate Pewe and all of the birds that this project is dedicated to helping in their return to the wild.
