The Western Anti Atlas hosts numerous copper-bearing occurrences. The majority of these copper occurrences are hosted in the basal formations of the infracambrian cover of the Tata Taroudant Group. The Tazalaght deposit is an example of mineralization hosted by both the Proterozoic basement and the infracambrian cover (basic series and Tamjout dolomites). It shows disseminated and vein-like mineralization.Through the field observations, petrographic and mineralogical study of the samples of drill holes TAZ100, TAZ101 and TAZ102 in the North of Tazalaght deposit, the results obtained, from lithostratigraphic point of view, it shows a Proterozoic basement surmounted by an infracambrian cover belonging to the Tata-Taroudant group. Globally, the latter starts with a detrital series called "basic series", surmounted by carbonate formations, the Tamjout dolomite, dolomitic sandstones and the marlstone series (lower limestone).
