Petrit Halilaj: Runik

By Petrit Halilaj

Dancing stars, floating flowers, a flying chicken on an airplane--Halilaj's installations transport viewers to the symbols of his war-stricken childhood, sent "from Runik with love"

Published with Museo Tamayo.

Kosovan artist Petrit Halilaj (born 1986) overruns the Museo Tamayo with large-scale installations--canopies bunched in flower petals, an airplane with a chicken painted on the side--that represent his fraught childhood, having fled his titular village upon the outbreak of the Kosovan War.
