A Book Worth Your Time

Debra Webb is a very good author. I had never hear of her until Person Of Interest. It is about a Dr. Elizabeth Cameron who provided new identities for CIA agents. Now someone is after her, and her hero is a man that she never want to see again. I don't want to give to much away, you are just going have to read it for yourself.

Book Worth Your Interest

Dr. Elizabeth Cameron is tops in her field of facial reconstruction and donates her skills to the CIA to provide new faces and identities for compromised field agents. Elizabeth knows firsthand how dangerous field work can be--when she began an intimate relationship w/ David Maddox, her former CIA handler, he was reassigned to the field and subsequently killed in the line of duty. Now, agents that Elizabeth has previously operated on are being killed, and Elizabeth is asked to help another agent assume David Maddox's identity in order to bring the culprits to justice. Elizabeth had briefly met Agent Joe Hennessey several months earlier when he provide protection for her at Maddox's request. The sparks between the two were unmistakable, but Elizabeth was disturbed by Hennessey's apparent overtures to her, a coworker's girlfriend. She is, therefore, dismayed to learn that Hennessey is the agent who will assume Maddox's identity and that she must work closely w/ him during his recuperation to provide detailed information about Maddox's personal features, mannerisms, and his affair w/ her. The burgeoning relationship between Elizabeth and Hennessey is realistically handled. Elizabeth is just coming to terms w/ the tragic conclusion of a complex relationship w/ Maddox and isn't certain she wants to get involved w/ another man, especially not one in such a dangerous line of work. Hennessey is definitely interested in Elizabeth, but knows that her past and his reputation as a love 'em and leave 'em ladies' man are not in his favor. He's alway been truthful w/ Elizabeth, tho, and thinks she's worth fighting for. The mystery/suspense angle is also excellently handled. This may be a romance, but no punches are pulled here. There's a lot at stake, and good people are in danger as they quietly and anonymously defend their country. Congratulations to Ms. Webb on penning such a riveting read. Highly recommended.

Another blockbuster from Webb!

I am a huge fan of Debra Webb's Colby Agency series, but I have to say PERSON OF INTEREST blew me away! I couldn't put the book down once I started reading. The final twist in the end was absolutely phenomenal! Ms. Webb has definitely outdone herself this time!

Good, quick read

Debra Webb's books are always a quick, action-packed read and this one was no different although it was more of a romance than I am accustomed to expecting from her. Dr. Elizabeth Cameron is one of the best facial reconstruction surgeons, which is why the CIA uses her periodically for their agents. Recently, her lover, David Maddox, was killed and Elizabeth had retreated into a shell, focusing only on work. The very day she is going to take a cruise and try to loosen up, the CIA comes calling yet again. This time they want her to remake agent Joe Hennessy as David Maddox. Unfortunately for Elizabeth, Joe is an agent she had previously met and sparks flew- for which she feels guilty to this day. However, agents Elizabeth has worked on are being killed and Elizabeth agrees to the job as she doesn't want others to die. Elizabeth does an excellent job of helping Joe emulate David in every way. However, she figures out that David may be the traitor who is causing the deaths of the agents. There is a bit of a twist to the story that I won't spoil by revealing. This was not my favorite Debra Webb book as it was more romance than some of her other novels but I still enjoyed it overall.
