Everyone has issues. Everyone has storms in their life. At some point in life, everyone will experience even a perfect storm. The Apostle Paul described a perfect storm in this manner when he wrote: we are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed (2 Corinthians, chapter 4; verses 8-9). The New Living Translation says it this way: for our present troubles are small and wont last very long. Although Paul was talking to the church at Corinth, we all, saved and unsaved, will experience troubles, setbacks and disappointments. It is not what we go through, but how we go through. We must refuse to become stuck emotionally, spiritually or psychologically in our storms. Paul also wrote in the same chapter: our light afflictions, which are for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding (ever increasing) and eternal weight of glory. Storms come in our lives to build character. Watch your character, for it is your character that builds your destiny: it has an irrefutable impact on how your life story ends.
