An Easy Step by Step

Being familiar with the Microsoft Step by Step series of books I selected this study guide on PeopleSoft and I was not disappointed. It's easy to follow with clear instructions and screen shots. The text doesn't bog you down with paragraph after paragraph of background descriptions and other information you don't need or care about. It gets right to the meat of the instruction. It has easy to follow exercises as well. The information in Part 2 covering the Application Designer was an added bonus. Part 3 covering access privileges, and importing data from outside sources was also extremely helpful. The only drawback was the requirement of having the HRMS database single-user version installed on my PC. Perhaps that should have been made clear in the book description. But the book suited my purposes and I highly recommend it as an excellent resource.

Could'nt be better

The author could not have done better , she left nothing ambigous in the reader's mind. Very well documented examples. Excellent book for a Peoplesoft person.

excellent exercise guide

This is an excellent exercise guide for those who prefer to study at their own pace. It is a great alternative to the PeopleSoft courses themselves that are often lengthy and expensive. PeopleSoft Step By Step will guide you through planned exercises that will quickly familiarize the student with the Application. You will learn by doing the exercises. This book is a good choice for those who do not have the time to attend a class and is also an excellent reference book for the technical user. The steps are clearly explained in this clear and concise guide which will allow even a beginner to use and understand the PeopleSoft Application. I would recommend this book to someone who is not yet familiar with the PeopleSoft Application because it is a great learning tool.

Excellent book with real life exercises, topics. A pragmatic approach for someone who is short on time but want to dive in into PeopleSoft water and keep his or her head well above it. The whole book can be considered as an excellent tutorial and also a good source of reference for topics ranging from PeopleSoft Designer, to PeopleSoft Code, to SQR ... . A must-have book for everybody dealing with PeopleSoft .

This book is an excellent material to have as the necessary tools for those who want to learn peoplesoft without any knowledge or background on peoplesoft before. I am so surprised and interested for its simple and easy steps to follow.The instructions and graphic pages walk you through from the very beginning to the end so clearly that is hard for any confusion. Besides, time frame spends in learning not too bad at all ( Like those are in 24 hours learning stuff ). I hope the author will write more books for advanced issues in such a manner.
