In 1829 the "Irvingite" revival broke loose and many received the Spirit in the West coast of Scotland and in Irving's Scottish church in London. But it was not the miraculous that got Irving in trouble with the Church of Scotland (Presbyterian.) It was his widely preached and published belief in the humanity of Jesus Christ.
