Penguins Illustrate Leadership

This is an illustrated look at the importance of leadership using cartoons as the medium and penguins as the protagonists.

The book has 11 Chapters that cover Empathy, A Team Goal, Trust and Respect, Communication, Culture, Motivation, Change, Tools, Coaching, Personal Development and Time Management

Leadership is a part of our everyday lives, and in some way, or another impacts us daily. If we can make that part meaningful, constructive and fun, it will make a positive difference to everyone involved.

This book provides a fun refresher for those already in leadership roles.

If you are just learning the ropes of leadership or looking to step up into the position, it's a handy guide of what to be mindful of.

For Teams, it can help identify opportunities to start a helpful conversation.

How To Use This Book.

Approach leadership like it is a circle, not a straight line.

All the facets are equally important, like spokes on a wheel, and you should revisit them if you want to keep even momentum.

The book starts from the top of the wheel and moves through steps to get the quickest momentum. It begins with creating the right environment and ends with how to sustain it.

The best part of each illustration is when you pause and ask yourself or the team, "Why? Why is this important?". "What would it look like for us?".

The answer's you get from these questions is where the connection begins.

About The Author.

Lee Sampson is a husband and father of three and a champion for more Introverts in leadership. Originally from Aotearoa/New Zealand, he's currently living in Cape Town, South Africa.

He has worked in leadership positions in Hospitality, Courier, Finance and ICT industries for over 20 years. He has been described; as an authentic, thoughtful, people-centric leader.

With an introvert's ability to observe what has worked well (and what has not) and an empaths ability to dial into what is most important to people, he has enjoyed success with many teams in varied environments.

He is somewhere between a leader that draws a bit and an artist who works in leadership, which is why he has decided to combine the two into his first book.

It's dedicated to all the people I have worked with, laughed with and learned from. And for my wife Michelle, children, Bella, Miles, Cooper and my Mum. I couldn't have done this without you.

And thanks to my Art teachers.
