"I drew every last chance I got; at shows, coffeeshops, at parties, get togethers, and at work sometimes, too. A lot of times I would draw 'form combinations' as studies for types of forms which were later to be included in paintings. Drawing these form combinations at live music events allowed me to capture the energy of that experience in a visual way. I would then select the best drawings of form combinations, and eventually draw them directly onto the canvas with an art pen. Then, I would use the brightest, most vivid, and intelligent color choices for painting them."
