Peace and Promise
Peace and Promise, is the first book in Emilda J's Heaven on Earth Series, featuring Black love, faith, healing, humor and hope. At its core, it follows two young adults learning how to navigate life, trauma, and connection while carrying the weight of grief, broken relationships, and unspoken truths.
Samaj Stephens has spent the last few months in survival mode. Carrying the weight of grief, he's learned how to look strong while quietly falling apart behind closed doors. Just when the pain becomes too heavy to handle alone, he meets Simone Renee a woman whose presence feels like peace in the middle of a storm.
Faith-driven, compassionate, and known by everyone as "the good girl," Simone has always tried to show up as her best self. But beneath her calm spirit and steady smile is a woman struggling to balance expectations, boundaries, and the fear of not being enough.
Their connection is undeniable from the start-comforting, intense, and healing in ways neither of them expected. But just as trust begins to grow between them, a devastating family secret comes to light-one powerful enough to unravel everything they thought they knew about love, loyalty, and the people closest to them.
As hidden truths surface and old wounds reopen, Samaj and Simone will find out if their relationship was built on a strong enough foundation that can withstand the storm or if surrendering control to God is the only way to keep from losing each other completely.
In this emotional story of faith, grief, forgiveness, and redemption, two broken hearts discover that sometimes God will shake everything uncertain before revealing what was meant to remain.
