Written for musicians of all skill levels, this reference is for a solid understanding of synthesizing and processing sound with your PC. This description may be from another edition of this product.
When I ordered the book I had no idea how much I didn't know about sound, sound equipment, and sound software! This was a very fascinating book that explains the science behind what we hear, then explains how to use the software to make music sound better. Parts of it were beyond my level of understanding or even need to know, but the part that dealt with the software I use was particularly helpful. As a basic user of the old Cool Edit Pro (now Adobe Audition, I believe), it helped me understand how to improve the sound files I record. For the more advanced user of that and other sound software programs, there's more than plenty of information to really tweak audio files. I may just do basic stuff now, but if I decide to do more later, I've got the book to lead the way.
