Love conquers all! It's the mid-1960s and the world for Paul Edmonds, a young black youth from Detroit, turns upside down. As a teenager at Southwestern High School, he develops a schoolboy crush for fellow classmate Rosa Robinson despite her strict upbringing and her mother's objections. Although the dark cloud of the Vietnam War is hanging over the Southwestern High class of 1965, Paul falls in love for Rosa and breaks through the barriers to develop love and concerned passion for her through the turbulent mid-1960s.
