Introduction

Paul counsels the Philippians about the importance of love: "This is what I continue praying, that your love may abound still more and more with accurate knowledge and full discernment." He also exhorts them about their need to avoid overconfidence, writing, "Keep working out your own salvation with fear and trembling."-Phil. 1:9. As a mature spiritual mentor, he encourages them to pursue "the prize of the upward call of God," adding, "to the extent we have made progress, let us go on walking orderly in this same course."-Phil. 3:14-16.

Dan Lukiv, published in 19 countries, is a poet, novelist, columnist, short story and article writer, and independent education researcher (hermeneutic phenomenology).
