Patterns: Stories & Notes on Remarkable People

By Teal Salloum

A book you can actually finish.

We are surrounded by stories of remarkable people: founders, athletes, entertainers, creators, and leaders. But beyond their accomplishments, what can we notice about the way they move through the world?

Drawing from stories passed down from his grandmother's career in entertainment, personal encounters, and remarkable lives across industries and generations, Teal Salloum began noticing the same patterns appearing again and again.

From a record producer trusting his creative instinct, to a founder holding onto an idea he was told wouldn't work, to an unlikely sailboat getaway, each chapter centers on a memorable story and highlights the pattern behind it.

Written for anyone who enjoys learning from the lives of others while building something of their own.

Each chapter takes just a few minutes to read. Start anywhere.

Recently, following Dolly Parton's passing, WLOX republished a 1987 interview between Dolly and Teal's grandmother, Barbara Salloum. This book features that conversation and Barbara's memories of Dolly.
