Patterns of Feelings: Poetic Enigmas

Certain patterns evoke feelings and emotions that seem to have no logic. Not only in dreams, but psychological tests like the Ink Blot test (Rorschach) are derived from, and throw light on so limited a culturally-tuned interpretation of certain small samples of populations, that they explain less, confuse more. Symbols like that of the rodent-like animal, the bat, can be all too easily inferred, by some, as having to do with "homosexual attraction". But would anyone jump to the same conclusion and interpret the same symbol for an illustrated book superhero like Batman? Here are some poems that explore just how some patterns, both symbols and mental patterns (thoughts) that are attributed to people, can easily be misinterpretations. This is, in a sense, an exploration of strange mental "knots" in continuation of R.D. Laing's thoughts in his book "Knots"; but without the rigidity or dryness of prose and mere logic: but patterns and strangeness, looked at from a poetic angle.
