About the Author Leonie (Author) and Gabby (Illustrator) met through an organisation which offers care to older adults in New Zealand. The first time they met, Leonie read Gabby a story she had written about a cat named 'Patme'. They then decided to make this story into the book you have in your hands. This book is dedicated to all people who live with dementia/mate wareware, a condition which affects around 70,000 Kiwi's. A diagnosis such as dementia can often mean significant decreases in the autonomy and independence of an individual. This book is a testament to the endurance of imagination and joy. Leonie wants Kiwis to know that no matter what you are going through, it is always worthwhile to pursue creativity, compassion, and cats.
