Treatment with vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) is a double-edged sword. Finding the right balance between thromboembolic risk and hemorrhagic risk is a challenge in which the patient must play a central role with active and satisfactory educational assistance involving all healthcare personnel. We set out to determine the levels of knowledge of patients on VKA treatment using a validated questionnaire and to look for links with biological balance (INR and TTR) and anticoagulant-related accidents. We followed 34 patients on VKA for 5 months. All sociodemographic and clinical data were collected at recruitment, and patients completed the VKA knowledge questionnaire (AKA). We collected the INR values of these patients during the follow-up period to calculate their TTR (Time in Therapeutic Range). We analyzed the results using IBM SPSS version 23.
