Born and raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. While serving, he achieved the rank of sergeant, and is a Viet Nam era veteran, serving until he was honorably discharged. Raised in an area with diverse ethnic backgrounds, he developed close friendships in the community, school, and church. He later becoming an ordained Deacon. He was a music major in school, studying violin, vocal singing, orchestral and choral directing. Later using these gifts in the church choir. Over the years, he has organized, developed, and directed vocal groups and choirs, both in church and the military. This is Mr. Putney's fulfillment of a lifetime dream to write a novel, that is uplifting and inspiring. This is his first novel, and it reflects the nurturing he experienced growing up in his community.
