Any woman born into this world is faced with adversities unless she sells out and becomes a kept woman(married or unmarried). The Author shows the paths of 12 extrodinary women who rise above the challenges with which they are faced. This is a must read for all and any young or older women bewildered by what the world is dishing out to them. It has not changed much in 2000 years...but since we burned our bras in the seventies we seem to be making progress...KEEP ON KEEPING ON. KUDOS to ALEXIS POWERS and her great reporting of others' self-empowering experiences.

A Humbling Read

Paths to Freedom was such an inspiring book. Each of these womens'stories made me feel blessed and left me amazed at the strength one can gain when having no choice. If you ever feel that life is tough, reading this book can make you feel there is certainly hope for you.

Outstanding Biographies

I was able to relate to several of the stories about these courageous women. A great book. This book is perfect for any woman. I am a cancer survivor and really related to C.J. Whitcomb's story. Renee Bondi's story amazed me. Her ability to continue a full life after becoming a quadriplegic warmed my heart. All of the stories are inspirational. Thank you Alexis Powers!

INSPIRING STORIES OF WOMEN

I really enjoyed reading this book especially because it is about real women and their stories. Some stories brought me to tears and others made me feel that I could make a difference in the world. It is well written and an easy read. Thanks to Alexis Powers for finding these women and telling us about their remarkable lives.
