Pathomorphology of tumors

The prevalence of cancer among the population is growing every year, and this trend is completely independent of a country's economic status or social situation. Moreover, modern research shows that the percentage of cancer cases is higher in regions with a higher level of development. It is no coincidence that oncology is one of the most pressing issues in medicine. Mortality from malignant neoplasms is also very high, with an average rate of 150:100,000 today. However, over the past few years, there has been a downward trend in this indicator, which can be explained by the development of modern medicine in the field of oncology: timely diagnosis of malignant forms, early treatment, and the use of new, highly effective means and methods of antitumor therapy. Nevertheless, there are currently no other diseases that combine such high prevalence and mortality rates. This textbook provides a detailed description of the patterns of morphological development of neoplasms and is intended for students of medical institutions.
