Great way to learn math facts and quilt block patterns

While I am student teaching, I decided to supplement the first graders with some math packets to work on when they finish classwork. The students thought they knew exactly what to do without waiting for my instructions, but once they made a few errors they learned to be careful about answering the equations so they got the balance of color, they diligently worked at this. I plan to integrate this lesson with actual quiltmaking.
