clever & well-designed

This spoof of Pat the Bunny is expertly done: the story's clever (and even packs a moral I wish my cat-chomping baby would pick up), the art's imaginative, and the pop-ups are inspired. One watch-out: those pop-ups, while great fun for kids, are also pretty fragile. Our 11 month old managed to pop some off on his third or fourth go-through.

great little book

my sons preschool has this book, and it seems to be his favorite, lots of push/feel sensations in the book.

Don't tease a beastie!

I was always interested in Henrik Drescher's works, so I wanted to try out "Pat the Beastie" and it was indeed a strange book. Basically, this story is about two cruel kids named Paul and Judy who tortures their pet beastie throughout the book until the end when the beastie takes matter into its own hands. I will not tell you what the beastie does to the children since I do not want to spoil the ending for you. This book was extremely creative, especially for a pop up book since the illustrations are both surreal and humorous at the same time and I love the fact that the dog and the bird try to warn the reader about teasing the beastie. "Pat the Beastie" is a great book for children who love gross humor, however some children might be a bit frighten by the images of the beastie

Great Interactive Book

This book is a fun read. Completely wacky, I think making fun of "Pat the Bunny Book." But it is fun to open curtains, touch the fur and torturing beastie. My toddler enjoyed looking at this book especially around age 2. If you have a crazy sense of humor, this maybe just sillier for the grown up as for the kid.

A Family Favorite

My girls adore this book! They thoroughly enjoy tormenting the beastie. This is an interactive family favorite.
