Many challenges face beautiful twin girls who are trying to support themselves in the west in the late 1800's. Signing up as mail-order brides seem to be their best choice of the opportunities offered them. This would allow them to stay near each other if they could not think of a way to get out of the agreement. They are torn apart on their journey to Oregon City, Oregon, and spend much time trying to reunite. The closeness they share as identical twins is demonstrated in their efforts to get back together. Josie meets a gambler who helps her while Katie is struggling to maintain her distance from the wagon train guide she is in love with. Many struggles ensue as each twin is determined to get back together with her sister. Passion is mirrored in many ways, including love for special people who play important roles in the two girls' lives. Dangers are faced and overcome until it is a question whether the twins will even survive much less reunite. There is much tension between the scout and Katie until you are left to wonder if they really love each other or would it be better for them to stay apart. This is the type of book you would love if you liked romantic adventure with a humorous twist.
