Denver Snuffer states in the beginning the book that he is a lawyer and not a historian which becomes very obvious to anyone with a decent knowledge of church history and scriptures. He presents this book like a lawyer bent on railing against all the prophets after Joseph Smith. One of the key components to his books argument is the Nauvoo Temple. Contrary to what Snuffer presents in the book the Nauvoo temple was finished and dedicated by Joseph Young (brother of Brigham Young). The temple did catch fire and take some damage as mentioned by Suffer, however it was repaired and as I mention earlier the temple was later completed. The temple miracles are also omitted in this book. (That would go against his thesis) Later the temple caught fire by an act of arson committed by Joseph Agnew who later confessed that he was paid to burn the temple. As mentioned in the book a tornado later knocked down most of the remains of the temple. The Nauvoo temple history is interesting indeed, but won't find that true history found in this book. There are numerous amounts of misleading information in this book, much more then I care to go over.
