Long, long ago, in a world lost in the misty past, I wondered about everything. Why is the sky blue? Why didn't people on the other side of the earth fall off the earth and up into space? What if some of the stories we read, or were read to us, didn't happen exactly the way they were presented? As George Gershwin so aptly penned: The t'ings dat yo' li'ble To read in de Bible, It ain't necessarily so. These stories are, obviously, works of fiction. My research into ancient customs, clothing and cultures formed the landscape of this alternate world. However, I found wide variation from source to source while developing a timeline. The basic timeline is correct, the exact dates of events may vary from accounts published elsewhere. Also, as this is a work of fiction, I invented various names and chose my own spelling. These imaginative and compelling stories use this precept as a starting point. Science fiction fans might call it "an alternate universe," readers from the fantasy realm; "an alternate reality," and in quantum physics; "multiverse." Or maybe it's found in "Hogwarts, a History" by Bathilda Bagshot. Herein are biblical matriarchs and patriarchs without their baggage, (think carry-on only.) Meet other ancestors who, overlooked as minor characters, waited patiently in the wings for their day on the stage.
