Passage on the Misery

A classic chase ensues when Amanda Foster steals the trade goods that Ren had paid for, and convinces the steamboat captain that if he leaves early, he will be rewarded with sexual favors for his trouble. The captain agrees and Amanda is on her way up the mighty Missouri with the goods and Ren's cash, leaving him literally high and dry in Kansas City, with the next boat upriver, ten days out.
