This is the first time a Traditional Chinese version has been published. Translated directly from Italian by renowned translator Ni Anyu. The book describes Calvino's transition from adolescence to adulthood, and also from peace to war. For many, "entering the next stage of life" is the same as "entering a state of war," and Calvino was no exception. Knowledge of war was limited at that time; Italy had only recently become involved in what would later be known as World War II. The protagonist is a pampered young man, living a carefree life, and perhaps because of this, he has limited self-awareness.
