Great book for your little Boricua

It's a great book about the history and conservation efforts for this bird. It describes the challenges these birds have faced and the efforts taken to conserve them very well. It also has a bit of Puerto Rican history thrown in as well. It is done in a way that digestible for a young child, but (for older children) could also act as a topic starter for deeper conversations about Puerto Rico's complicated history. The layout of the book is kind of annoying (the traditional left and right sides of the book are actually the top and the bottom), but the artwork is cute (if you're a fan of paper art you'll love it), and it feels great to have children books about Puerto Rico and its animals.
