How you deal with pain and affliction matters If you decide to just stay at home, the world, with all the hustle and bustle, continues. We are here to make a difference. Are you part of that directive? Are you willing to bring about change by using your God given gifts and talents for the purpose for which you were created? As I write, I do so from a level of pain and hope. Pain keeps me aware of the needs of others as I extend compassion and empathy. Hope puts me into position for God's intervention. I am reminded daily that the battle is not mine. Are you hearing the cries around you? Are you opposed to being interrupted? Almost everything Jesus did was during an interruption. Are you making time for people? Are you upset when someone interrupts you? Yes, we can get mad, and we can turn our backs on God, but we do have a choice. So yes, it's up to you. Are you going to put your spin on it and tell everybody how awful your affliction is, or will you trust in the God that spoke the world into existence and allow Him to guide you through it? Remember, God did not remove the Red Sea, He parted it Then His people went through it. God doesn't remove every affliction, but He makes a way to get you through it. Where is my hope? In whom or what do I trust? These are some of the basic questions in life. I will answer some of these questions as you follow along in this book. You will see the struggles that I continue to face with Parkinson's, and the host of neurological issues that make up my cross to bear. Despite my affliction, I choose to be used by God to help those who are struggling with their health, finances, and whatever else God chooses for me to do. All glory to God who is able to do far more than all that we could ever ask or imagine During this time I had been given hope. I look back to the healings that I have received in years past, thanking God for his provisions as a hope for my future. More people have been speaking into my life and encouraging me to lean on God and scripture for strength. I've come to conclude: the written Word of God gives you hope and passion for perseverance. It is what gets you off the sidelines and into the game. This book is about the many ways that God brings "a ray of hope." Time and time again I encounter people on my path at the right place, at the right time, for me to be the answer to someone's prayer. But my affliction continues without ceasing. Seemingly to progress at a more rapid pace than before. I am humbled and broken. I cry tears until the well is dry. I no longer wake in the morning with expectations of healing. Does that mean I lost hope? Or does that mean I suffer well as I trust God? When you lift your voice in praise and gratitude while in your affliction, you take the sting out of the assault from the enemy. That's when God takes over and uses it for His glory. Remember, we are heavenly beings having an earthly experience. We are not the source of light, but we are reflections of the Light. So, why does it seem like I am going backwards? The wilderness is where God reveals himself to you. The wilderness experience is meant for preparation, not for correction. You are being prepared for what lies ahead. Like end time prophecy, it is to prepare us, not to scare us. Think about it, your world's not falling apart, it's falling into Grace. The only way to grow is to be teachable.
