I am a thief, liar, rough neck, ill-mannered and possess few morals. According to the widely held view of anyone living outside of where I was born and spent the first two decades of my life. I am a person of Leigh Park, otherwise known as 'a Parkie' or 'Parky'. Born into this sprawling council housing estate north of Portsmouth in the late 1950's. These are my stories of growing up on the estate during the not so swinging 60s and glorious 1970s. Captured in a series of short stories, memories, and anecdotes (some funny, some not so) this memoir provides the reader with a glimpse into a time of my life that was markedly different to that of my own children. Footnote: If you're thinking of writing a review for this book and in doing so telling the world that I'm no writer, have no writing qualifications or you've noticed that some of my grammar isn't up to scratch then you'd be right. But then I don't care, and you've missed the point.
