'Paris and the stolen painting' is the story of the first adventure of Paris the penguin. Paris lives with his cousin, Pongo, and their family in an ordinary English town. However, extraordinary things always seem to happen to Paris, who manages to get into trouble in spite of his best efforts not to. The little penguin wakes up one morning and decides to go on adventure. He sets off before his family are awake and begins a day of misadventure and fun with his neighbours, Mr and Mrs Smith. As well as having a lot of fun, Paris also manages to foil the theft of a painting in this, his very first adventure. This is a whimsical story, with a lovable main character, that will appeal to both parents and children alike. The Paris Adventure series has been written by teacher, Karen Hurren, with a view to helping children to begin a lifelong love of reading. Aimed at 5 to 8 year olds, the Paris stories have been designed to encourage children to read, and to expand their vocabulary, whilst enjoying a well-told story.
