This is a State board approved independent study that will allow students to earn 50 continuing education credits (CEU). It is a specialized training course that prepares offenders and ex-offenders with the materials needed to become a Forensic/ReEntry Peer Recovery Support Specialist. Students will be ready to provide assistance and guidance to individuals who have experienced mental health issues, trauma, substance abuse, or other addictions and also dealing with the criminal justice system. Students are taught how to leverage their own lived experiences to offer empathetic support and help others navigate challenges. This role is crucial in promoting resilience and recovery for those dealing with legal issues.
