Parent with an Attitude will support and encourage you as a parent to have the influence only you can have in your children's lives--to help you develop an attitude of intentionality, boldness, and confidence. Your children need you. Parenting is a role God meant for you to have. You are key to your children's ability to develop a relationship with the Lord and discover His purpose for their lives. This is what is meant by a Parent with an Attitude! Responsive parenting requires discernment. Solomon writes, "Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance," (Proverbs 1:5). Wisdom is available to us, but it is not handed to us. We must pursue wisdom in a disciplined, intentional fashion, applying ourselves to the task of listening and learning. As we discern what God is doing and what He desires for our children, we can know what we need to be doing and saying in order to see God's purpose fulfilled in and through them. In addition, we can avoid the pitfalls along the way--pitfalls Proverbs says fools fall into. Proverbs is for everyone, but especially useful for training the young.
