Dense, but wonderfully highbrow. Critiques all major schools of education without showing any parti

Brann gives a dense but wide ranging examination of the theories of education found in various cultures. Although primarily western in scope, Brann throws in everything but the kitchen sink to reach her consummately careful and studuied conclusions. I cannot recommend this book strongly enough.
