Paradox: Consciousness Beyond the Brain: Intelligent Design, Physics, & Scripture

PARADOX
Physical death, though dreaded as the ultimate end, is in truth the paradoxical threshold into unlimited life. Scripture teaches that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8), showing that what looks like finality is actually transition. Death strips away the fragile shell of flesh that binds us to time, decay, and limitation, releasing the soul into the greater reality for which it was created. As Paul wrote, "The first man was of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven... as we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly" (1 Corinthians 15:47-49). Thus, the door that appears to close is also the gateway to a larger, eternal dwelling.

The paradox deepens when we realize that what seems destruction is actually liberation. Our mortal, perishable bodies are destined to be raised as immortal, imperishable bodies (1 Corinthians 15:51-53). Jesus declared, "He who believes in me will live, even though he dies" (John 11:25), affirming that death does not erase life but magnifies it. In losing the temporal, we gain the eternal; in surrendering what is corruptible, we inherit what cannot fade. Through this transformation, life is no longer bound to the ticking of clocks but enters into the eternal now of God's presence.

In this mystery, death stands as both enemy and servant. It is the enemy because it announces the curse of sin (Romans 6:23), yet through Christ's victory it has been swallowed up and stripped of its sting (1 Corinthians 15:54-56). On the cross, Jesus entered death to overturn it, transforming the grave into a passageway to glory. For the believer, what the world fears most becomes the very instrument of promise-where weakness is exchanged for strength, mortality for immortality, and time for eternity.

Here lies the Kingdom's paradox: loss leads to gain, death to life, and surrender to everlasting triumph.
Just as a seed must fall into the ground and die to bear fruit (John 12:24), so must the body yield to decay that the spirit may rise clothed in glory. "For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality" (1 Corinthians 15:53). And when that moment arrives, we will discover death not as the end but as the unveiling of victory, for "we will be with the Lord forever" (1 Thessalonians 4:17).

David Masters' journey into the exploration of other realms began with a profound three-day Out-of-Body Experience (OBE) in his youth, a moment that became the turning point of his life. In his book Pay Attention to Your Intuition, he recounts how this extraordinary experience opened the eyes of his mind to realities beyond the physica. What began as a bewildering separation from his body unfolded into an encounter with dimensions of consciousness that revealed the universe as far more interconnected, layered, and alive than conventional reality suggests.

By awakening his intuitive faculties, Masters learned to discern subtle energies, symbolic impressions, and metaphysical truths, recognizing intuition as the inner compass that links humanity to higher wisdom. His writing emphasizes that such intuitive awakenings are not reserved for mystics alone but are a potential inheritance for all willing to quiet the noise of the world and listen deeply.

Through his exploration of hidden realms, Masters presents a vision of consciousness as expansive and eternal, where death is not an ending but a doorway, and life is a continuum of spiritual discovery. His OBE was not simply a fleeting event but a revelation that shaped his worldview, driving him to study, teach, and share what he discovered about the vast field of consciousness. In PARADOX, he invites readers into this journey, showing how higher awareness can transform fear into wonder, confusion into clarity, and isolation into communion with the divine reality.
