How did things ever get so far ?
What started out as a seemingly easy bounty job with the chance to acquire mind-blowing wealth, has turned into a dead end - or, in upscale PARADISO lingo - a cul-de-sac.
Streetwise Anne has a colorful past as a hustler, model and then some. Insinuating circumstances have her hiding in mediterranean Europe after being on the lam in the Caribbean. As a fixer she makes problems and the occasional corpse disappear. Supported by an idiosyncratic ex-French-Foreign-Legion roughneck with a sensitive side, who regards shooting at wave runners a recreational activity... Business is thriving and all things considered, life is good for the Floridian native in her chic exile. But her past is creeping up on her, turmoil is brewing and before she has a chance to react, she is trapped in a tailspin tornado. Who fixes for her ? Potentially a sought-after Hollywood specialist ? Who brings his own trouble. After an exceptionally dangerous and dirty job, that nearly got him and his crew of Mexican ex-gang-bangers killed, he needs a breather, so he has accepted a seemingly easy, white-collar manhunt. It doesn't hurt that the assignment requires him to fly private and investigate in ritzy destinations like Malibu, Venice, St. Barts, Miami and the C te d'Azur. And having to collaborate with attractive, mysterious and delicately dangerous Anne, he wouldn't call unacceptable either...They have a lot in common. Like hell hounds on their trail. When said hell hounds and the headless horseman blow into Paradiso, things take a turn for the worst and spin out of control. Only then does Mr. Hollywood realize that this assignment may be his swan song. If he is lucky enough to not cross the Rubicon and enter the Halls of Valhalla...
