Parade of Misfits is a rebuke written by the Apostle of the Uncircumcision to the most blatant Christian reprobates of the 1st century. They had an abundance of spiritual gifts, but their lifestyle was beset with sins so heinous, that even pagans throughout the Roman Empire were embarrassed to discuss them in public. In spite of their inflated opinion of themselves, they were spiritual babies still nursing on mother's milk when they should have been eating the chateaubriand of God's Word. Replete with examples of what not to do as neophyte Christians, Paul does his best to correct such behavior and set them on a path of spiritual rehabilitation using correct protocol for the Church Age. He had university-level doctrines to teach them, but their lack of maturity forced him to return to the basics. Their shame and lack of progress is a warning for us today.
