This technique is similar to Judy Niemeyer's but with a different design style. The patterns contain Mariner's compasses, flowers, leafs, different star blocks and snowflakes. A "sun printing technique" is also included and a little bit of appliqué. The way the author's choice of fabric and color changes the way a block looks is amazing. I really like the tropical feel of "Cactus Tree" and "The Powers of Flowers". "Christmas Cactus" is pretty and "Dusk To Dawn radiates with movement. This style is little bit out side my box (traditional) and I can't wait to get started. I am very pleased I purchased this book and I think you would be to be too. The Book was shipped quickly and was in the condition described.

Paper Piecing

This book is awesome. The designs are wonderful. Had to get one for my friend too after she saw it.

More details and a wider scope

People paper piece because of the desire for accuracy. People who have tried to paper piece and don't like it have their reasons but I'm not going to explore those. This book has many advantages for people who already enjoy paper piecing with lots of tips how to improve patterns, your sewing, accuracy, and the speed of production. The bold color choices make the piecing decisions more obvious and also allow the quilter to choose to use these patterns for borders as well as blocks. There is an assembly line production demonstrated using strips that is what really tempts you into choosing this method as well. This is NOT a baby blanket beginner book, you will have to have some quilting experience under your belt to get the most out of your first projects. This is a very enjoyable book to add to your library.
