Papa, I'm Still Me
Papa, I'm Still Me
A heartbreaking and unforgettable novel about family, identity, forgiveness, and the unconditional love that can heal even the deepest wounds.
Jordan Reyes grows up believing his father is a hero.
Alfredo Reyes is the strongest man in their community-a hardworking father respected by everyone and feared by many. To Jordan, there is no greater dream than growing up to be just like him.
But as Jordan begins to understand the truth about who she is, everything changes.
A single moment-a blue dress, a tube of lipstick, and an unexpected knock on a bedroom door-shatters the family forever.
Rejected by the father she loves most, Jordan eventually embraces the name Juliet, discovering confidence through the LGBTQ+ community, lifelong friendships, and the pageant stage. Yet beneath every smile and every crown remains the same quiet hope:
Maybe one day, Papa will see me again.
While Juliet builds a life filled with purpose, Alfredo is left with the weight of his own choices. Years later, faced with the painful truth that fear and pride cost him the child he never stopped loving, he begins the hardest journey of his life-not toward changing Juliet, but toward changing himself.
Papa, I'm Still Me is an emotional family drama that explores:
A father's struggle between pride and unconditional love.A child's search for identity and acceptance. The unbreakable bond between siblings. The healing power of forgiveness. The courage to choose love over fear.Filled with unforgettable moments, heartbreaking reunions, and a powerful message of hope, this novel reminds us that families are not defined by perfection, but by the willingness to love, forgive, and begin again.
