Pandy and the Snake Alarm

A snake alarm sends Prairie Dog City into a panic. When one young prairie dog disappears during the confusion, Mayor Mudley sends Pandy to the surface to search for him.

Near an old, closed burrow, Pandy finds the frightened youngster trapped underground. He also discovers Sable, a large Texas Indigo Snake. The prairie dogs have always been taught that every snake is dangerous, but Sable insists that he does not hunt prairie dogs and offers to help rescue the missing child.

Pandy and Mayor Mudley must decide whether they can trust someone who looks so different from them. After Sable proves his kindness and courage, the citizens of Prairie Dog City learn more about Texas snakes and vote on whether their unexpected new neighbor should be allowed to stay.
